Man Utd want Min-Jae

Napoli star Kim Min-jae is now ‘destined’ for Manchester United with his transfer to Old Trafford now just a ‘matter of details’, according to reports.

It was claimed last week that United had ‘opened talks’ with the representatives of Kim and had submitted a ‘colossal’ contract offer.

Over the weekend though a report suggested Chelsea could hijack the move for the South Korean, who’s played a huge role in Napoli storming to the Serie A title this season, making 33 appearances and helping Luciano Spalletti’s side to 16 clean sheets.

Journalist Ignazio Genuardi claimed Chelsea would look to use both Christian Pulisic and former Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly – who only joined the Blues in the summer – as part of a deal to get Kim to Stamford Bridge.

But that was something of nothing according to Il Mattino (via Sport Witness), the local rag in Naples, who claim ‘intermediaries have convinced the defender to sign for Manchester United’.

The transfer is now just a ‘matter of details’, though the same report claims those some intermediaries are also working to get Victor Osimhen, so ‘there’s a chance the two situations are intertwined’.

La Repubblica confirm the Kim aspect of the story, insisting he’s ‘destined’ for Man Utd, with Napoli already looking for his replacement.

But United will face a battle for Osimhen, with Chelsea similarly desperate for a striker and ‘more than ready’ to meet Napoli’s £130m.

Chelsea are planning to offer Christian Pulisic and Kepa Arrizabalaga plus money in an effort to reach their valuation of Osimhen with Todd Boehly desperate to bring in a top striker this summer.

Osimhen has numerous admirers around Europe after scoring 23 goals in 29 Serie A appearances so far this season to help guide Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years.

Bayern Munich have also been linked, but have been put off by his price tag, and are now thought to be focused instead on Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, another reported target of United.
