Reported Chelsea target Andre Onana holds onto the ball during Inter Milan's Champions League match

Andre Onana’s agent insists the Cameroonian goalkeeper is “very happy” at Inter Milan amidst reports linking him with a move to Chelsea.

Onana has been one of the best goalkeepers in Europe this season and has played a huge part in the Italian side’s route to the Champions League final.

He joined the Nerazzurri from Ajax on a free transfer last summer but is already being linked with an exit.

Chelsea are one of many clubs looking to sign a new No. 1 and given Onana’s form it is no surprise to see him linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

There has been a lot of talk of a swap deal, with the Blues open to including Kepa Arrizabalaga or Edouard Mendy in a transfer to sign the former Ajax shot-stopper.

Should Onana leave in a deal not involving a player, it has been reported that Inter would ask for around £40million, which is a very good fee in the modern market.

One of the best goalkeepers in the world with the ball at his feet, the 27-year-old would be a huge upgrade on Kepa and Mendy.

Onana’s agent, Albert Botines, has provided something of an update on his client’s future, insisting that he is “focused” on finishing the season with Inter and is “very happy” in Italy.

“Transfer market rumours are normal at this stage, but I prefer not to talk about it because it’s very early and now the boy is focused only on the pitch,” Botines said.

“We have a five-year contract with Inter. He has another four years on his contract and now he is focused only on the Serie A final and the Champions League final.

“He still has a long contract, don’t worry. He’s very happy, he’s playing for the strongest team in Italy.”

Standard Sport say Chelsea are also looking at Brentford’s David Raya, Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel and Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili with incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino very keen to bring in a new goalkeeper.

Raya is expected to leave Brentford at the end of the season with his contract set to expire in 2024.

The Spanish goalkeeper has reportedly rejected several contract offers from Chelsea’s London rivals.

The Bees are believed to be looking for £40m, which is also a pretty decent fee, but given his contract situation, interested clubs may be able to drive that price down a little bit.

Manchester United are also believed to be interested in signing Raya, who like Onana, excels with the ball at his feet.
