Bayern to ‘blow’ Liverpool, Arsenal away for Chelsea star with German club ‘ready to match all offers’

Liverpool target Mason Mount claps the supporters

Bayern Munich are confident of beating off competition from Liverpool and Arsenal for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, according to reports.

The England international’s contract is expiring and he has attracted interest from Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

He has been unable to agree fresh terms with Chelsea so far with the Blues not yet meeting his contract demands ahead of the summer transfer window.

That has fueled interest with clubs hoping they can sign Mount for a bargain price but The Athletic journalist David Ornstein says that a “conversation” between Mount and Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has given the Blues a glimmer of hope that they can strike a deal.

“You can still have dialogue and I revealed that on Friday of last week there was a conversation directly between Todd Boehly, Chelsea’s controlling co-owner, and Mason Mount personally,” Ornstein told Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.

“What was reiterated to Mount is how important he is to Chelsea and how much they would like to renew him if they can.

“Now that’s their perspective, they came away from it with some positive feeling that for the first time in a long time perhaps there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

“But there are two people in this equation – it is not a foregone conclusion that they will get what they want, especially when there is growing interest in Mason Mount from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, from Thomas Tuchel – who is very fond of him because he managed him – whether Bayern Munich are backing him on that we’ll have to wait and see.

“It’s a massive decision for both parties. Chelsea’s view is either we renew or we’ll sell. Mason Mount has the power to stick around for another year, if he doesn’t want to sign another contract, and leave as a free agent in 2024.”

In recent weeks Liverpool have appeared to be the most interested in Mount but now Football Insider claims that Bayern Munich are ‘ready to blow Liverpool away’ in the race for the 24-year-old.

The Bundesliga giants ‘are prepared to enter a bidding war with Liverpool to sign’ Mount with former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel ‘pushing the German giants to sign’ him.

Despite interest in Mount from Liverpool and Arsenal, Football Insider adds that Bayern Munich ‘have prepared a sizeable summer budget ahead of the summer window and are ready to match all offers for Mount in an attempt to lure him to Germany’.
