Man United e-mail ambassadors after Yorke’s ‘load of cr*p’

Manchester United have sent an e-mail to club ambassadors asking them not to be too critical of the club.

United have endured a difficult start to the Premier League season, losing two of their opening three games.

Reports claimed that United players were left ‘confused’ and even ‘upset’ after the defeat to Tottenham, which saw them drop to 13th in the nascent table.

Mourinho has a number of issues he needs to sort out at Old Trafford, but the club have sought to ease the pressure on his position.

According to Charlie Sale of the Daily Mail, United have e-mailed a number of club ambassadors and requested that they do not ‘inflame the situation further’.

A number of former players, from Dwight Yorke to Bryan Robson, were asked ‘to be careful’ with regards to their public criticisms of Mourinho.

The manager found Yorke’s scathing comments in May ‘particularly irritating’, with the ex-forward describing United’s style as “a load of crap”.

Mourinho’s future ‘has become such a sensitive issue’ that they wish not to unnecessarily exacerbate it.
