Manchester United star Victor Lindelof is ‘quite unhappy’ at Old Trafford due to a lack of game time, and reports of a deal being ‘practically done’ for a new centre-back won’t be easing his mind.

Lindelof has found himself behind Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez for much of the season, and like club captain Harry Maguire, has been linked with a move away this summer.

An injury for Martinez has seen the Sweden international start the last nine games, with United keeping five clean sheets in that time, but Lindelof has already said he wants to “play every game”.

“Of course like every player, you want to play every game and obviously I haven’t done that this season,” Lindelof said in March. “But like I always say when I come here [international duty], it’s a pleasure to be here and I’m always happy to represent my country.

“I’m really looking forward to the games that we have and I spoke to Janne [Sweden’s manager] before to say I was really looking forward to coming here and to perform, and to be on the pitch with the guys again.

“Like I said, I want to play, that’s why I play football, I want to play games, but I haven’t thought about that [transfer away], right now I’m just focusing on the national team and then of course, the rest of the season with the club. Then in the summer we’ll re-evaluate and see what is best.”

His mood won’t have been improved by reports claiming Kim Min-jae’s move to United is ‘practically done’.

The South Korean has been in brilliant form for the Serie A side this season with his performances helping Napoli to a first Scudetto in 33 years.

A report claims a ‘villa’ has been made available for Kim at Alderley Edge with United ‘preparing to pay’ his €65m release clause.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano added more meat to the Kim transfer bones, claiming the Red Devils have been working on the deal for the last seven months.

“For Kim, we have to say that Manchester United started to work on this deal at the end of October and the beginning of November.

“They have been sending their scouts and they have always been in attendance to follow Kim Min-jae with Napoli.

“He has been putting in excellent performances and he has been the best centre-back of the season, for sure, in Serie A. He is doing very, very well.”

InterLive claim Lindelof is ‘quite unhappy’ at United as he wants to be first choice and Inter Milan will look to reignite their interest in the 28-year-old this summer.

The Champions League finalists reportedly contacted Lindelof at the end of the January transfer window, and although they couldn’t get a deal over the line, contact is still in place and he’s somewhere near the top of their shortlist in the summer.
