€130m Man Utd target ‘wants’ Bayern move ‘immediately’ but expected bid ‘will fall on deaf ears’
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen would jump at the chance to join Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany.
Osimhen is expected to leave the Serie A club at the end of the season with Man Utd and Chelsea both in the running for his signature.
He has been very impressive for the Naples outfit this term, scoring 25 goals in 29 matches across all competitions.
There is lots of interest in Napoli’s biggest talents with goalkeeper Alex Meret, defender Kim Min-jae and winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia all attracting interest from the Premier League.
Osimhen is arguably the most in-demand with several top clubs in the market for a new No. 9.
Chelsea have spent around £600million in the previous two transfer windows but still lack an out-and-out goalscorer.
Meanwhile, Man Utd got rid of Cristiano Ronaldo last November and will sign a successor this summer.
Bayern Munich are another team looking to sign a new striker at the end of the season having opted against replacing Robert Lewandowski – who joined Barcelona last year.
Man Utd and Bayern’s transfer shortlist is very similar with both clubs interested in Osimhen, Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
All four of those players are believed to be valued in the region of £100million.
It was reported on Monday that Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel will have the funds at his disposal to bring in a big-money forward.
According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the club’s transfer budget falls short of Napoli’s asking price for Osimhen.
Bayern’s budget will be €100m, with the Serie A side expected to ask for at least €130m plus bonuses for their talisman.
An offer of ‘only €100m’ is likely to ‘fall on deaf ears’ in Naples.
In a boost to Bayern and blow to Man Utd and Chelsea, however, Plettenberg believes ‘Osimhen wants and would switch to Bayern immediately’.
A move to the German champions would be a lot less risky with a trophy and Champions League football pretty much guaranteed every season.
With zero career trophies to his name, a transfer from Spurs to Bayern makes perfect sense for Kane.
The England captain seems hell-bent on taking over Alan Shearer as the all-time leading goalscorer in the Premier League, however.
