Arsenal invincible Ray Parlour has admitted he would love his former club to move for Marcus Rashford in the summer should Manchester United allow him to leave.

Rashford has struggled this season, scoring just four Premier League goals so far and was left out of the starting XI for the Manchester derby last weekend, despite being the only available striker.

United boss Ralf Rangnick instead chose to play midfield duo Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba as forwards in the absence of Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rashford’s form and lack of trust by his manger has seen him linked with a move away from Old Trafford and Parlour has admitted he would love Arsenal to sign him.

Arsenal are in need of forwards with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are both out-of-contract in the summer and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already departed.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Parlour said: “Marcus Rashford is going through a bit of a bad spell but he’s a top player.

“I am sure lots of clubs will be enquiring about Marcus Rashford if he was available in the summer.

“Certainly Arsenal, I would love him to come to Arsenal. That’s the position Arsenal need to look at this summer, it’s vital for the club.

“If Rashford’s available – and I don’t think he would be because United would be mad to sell him – but if he is available then Arsenal would definitely be interested.”

Meanwhile, former Manchester United man Dimitar Berbatov has urged Rashford to stay at Old Trafford, adding that it was too early for him to think about leaving.

“It’s understandable that Rashford wants to start games and, if he’s still not being picked by the end of the season, I’d expect him to be considering his future at the club,” Berbatov told Betfair (via the Daily Star).

“But he needs to remember that there will be another manager in charge next season and players who haven’t had a look-in under (Ralf) Rangnick will get another chance.

“So it’s a bit too soon for Rashford to be thinking about leaving for another club.”
