Erik ten Hag is reportedly growing ‘increasingly impatient’ with Man Utd attacker Jadon Sancho and the head coach wants a ‘ruthless’ clear-out this summer.

The Red Devils signed Sancho in 2021 from Borussia Dortmund for around £73m.

Expectations were high when he joined Man Utd after he consistently grabbed goals and assists in the Bundesliga.

But Sancho has struggled since making the move to Old Trafford. He has only been involved in 14 goals in 64 appearances for United across all competitions.

The Englishman was out of action for a couple of months earlier this season as Ten Hag revealed he suffered a drop off in “fitness and mood”.

Sancho has only featured sparingly in recent weeks and it has been reported that he could be set for a ‘surprise exit’ from Man Utd this summer.

Manchester Evening News are now reporting that Ten Hag is ‘becoming increasingly impatient’ with Sancho, who could be among the players who leave United this summer.

Man Utd are winless in three Premier League games and Ten Hag wants the club’s hierarchy to ‘be more ruthless with a squad clearout as part of the next phase of their rebuild’.

‘Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Alex Telles and Anthony Martial will all be made available for transfer’. It is also noted that Eric Bailey will be let go if he does not ‘hit the appearance milestone to trigger Marseille’s obligation to make his loan move permanent’.

Dean Henderson is likely to exit Man Utd permanently when his loan spell at Nottingham Forest comes to an end. The report adds:

‘Newcastle have shown interest in Scott McTominay, United have not provisionally planned for his sale as he is the youngest of their four senior central midfielders.

‘Wingers Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri have been pencilled in for loans next term amid the possibility Ten Hag accommodates Amad once his season-long loan with Sunderland ends. United are yet to decide on whether to reintegrate Mason Greenwood back into the squad.

‘Ten Hag wants a new starting striker, with Harry Kane his preferred target, and a dynamic midfielder amid ongoing interest in Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona and Jude Bellingham. A new centre-back may also be required, depending on the futures of Maguire and Victor Lindelof.’

The report also confirms that United are in talks with David De Gea over a new contract.

They had the option to extend his deal on the same terms until 2024 but they want him to agree to a pay cut. It is noted that his current deal sees him earn around £280,000 a week.
