Transfer gossip: Man Utd to move for Neymar as Kane deal offers Rashford boost

Neymar and Harry Kane are both said to be summer targets for Manchester United.

Man Utd have been thinking about Neymar ‘for a while’, while the Red Devils are also getting their ducks in a row to move for Harry Kane – which could be good news for Marcus Rashford…

NEYMAR A LONG-TERM TARGET FOR MAN UTD
Yesterday’s Gossip brought word of Chelsea’s interest in Neymar but it was said the Blues had competition for the Brazilian’s signature from one other Premier League club. Apparently, that club is Manchester United.

That’s the claim coming from Foot Mercato, which reports that the Red Devils have been on Neymar’s case ‘for a while’. It is said any deal to sign the world’s most expensive player hinges on a Qatari takeover, and even then, Neymar needs convincing to leave a cushy gig in Paris, even if the club would happily be rid of him and his massive salary.

Is Neymar an Erik ten Hag player? Would the United boss indulge the 31-year-old’s whims? We highly f***ing doubt it. The attraction for any new owner is obvious, and it sounds like just the sort of deal Todd Boehly would be up for, but Ten Hag has already seen off one massive ego this season. It seems unlikely he’d fancy putting up with Neymar’s sh*t.

KANE, RASHFORD SET FOR £300K-A-WEEK UNITED DEALS
We don’t doubt United’s interest in Harry Kane. The only questions are if they can convince Kane to leave Tottenham, and then whether Daniel Levy would do business with them.

When it comes to convincing the England striker, The Sun says United will table a contract that would see Kane collect £300,000 a week, up from his current £200,000-a-week salary at Spurs. Which is good news for Marcus Rashford, who will be offered similar terms to sign a new deal at Old Trafford.

As far as dealing with Levy, The Telegraph says United have begun due diligence over the possible costs involved in tempting Tottenham to sell, rather than risk allowing Kane to enter the final year of his contract. The Red Devils intend to make ‘a serious offer’ which will almost certainly need to be in the region of £100million.

CHELSEA KEEN ON £35M KEEPER
Like United, Chelsea also desperately need a centre-forward this summer. First they need a manager – they seem to be making inroads on that one – then Boehly needs to address his squad. And by that, we mean sign the cheques and leave well the f*** alone.

Boehly will have to sanction a £35million payment for Inter Milan if it is true that Chelsea want Andre Onana. Gazzetta dello Sport suggests they do, with the Blues ready to sit down with Inter to discuss a deal for the Cameroon keeper.

Onana only moved to Inter last summer on a free transfer from Ajax, and he took his place in their net from October after serving a doping ban. The Italians are said to be willing to do a deal, but only if reaps a profit of €40million.
