Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial are the headline names among 13 that Manchester United apparently want off their books, while Liverpool have watched a £25million-rated midfielder…

THIRTEEN STARS SHUFFLED TOWARDS MAN UTD EXIT
A huge summer awaits Manchester United as they seek a centre-forward, a midfielder, possibly a goalkeeper and perhaps a new owner.

Amid all that, the Red Devils will look to move on some of their current players. The Daily Mail reckons the clear-out could affect around half of their squad.

Apparently, United will attempt to shift as many as 13 players as they walk an FFP tightrope. Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial are the biggest names being ushered towards the exit door and Erik ten Hag is open to Aaron Wan-Bissaka – a target for West Ham, according to Football Insider – Donny van de Beek, Anthony Elanga and Brandon Williams following them.

United don’t want to see Eric Bailly and Alex Telles return from their loan spells, whereas Facundo Pellistri will likely be packed off but only temporarily after signing a new deal.

Doubts remain over the long-term futures of Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer following their January loan moves from Burnley and Bayern respectively. And United can finally stop paying Phil Jones his £100,000 a week from July 1.

LIVERPOOL EYEING BRISTOL CITY STARLET
The Daily Mail also brings us the news that Liverpool are in for Alex Scott.

The Bristol City teenager is set to be the hottest property in the Championship, with seemingly half of the Premier League having watched him at some point this season.

Liverpool are said to have dispatched head of recruitment Dave Fallows and chief scout Barry Hunter to England’s Under-20 clash with Germany last month to check on 19-year-old Scott, who played 70 minutes in a 2-0 win.

West Ham and Wolves are also known to be interested in the midfielder who is expected to fetch around £25million for the Robins.

VILLA TO HAND CITY THEIR MONEY BACK FOR £45M FLOP
Kalvin Phillips could be set to escape Manchester City, with Aston Villa said to be keen on the out-of-favour midfielder.

Phillips is yet to start a Premier League game for Pep Guardiola since his big move from Leeds last summer. The 27-year-old has only been named in City’s XI twice, once in each of the domestic cup competitions, having played a total of 353 minutes for City.

Still, Villa are said to be willing to give City their money back, with Football Insider suggesting that Unai Emery is willing to sanction a club-record deal to land Phillips. A £45million move would smash the previous record set when Villa paid £33million for Emi Buendia.
